The ISS Day 15
Day 15 on the ISS and it is kind of fun so here is the history of the ISS: First of all, it was built with a lot of countries so that is why it is call the International Space Station (or ISS) and it started in 1998 and took two years to finish so it has been running for 20 years.
So, a day in the life aboard the ISS. In the morning we do the same things as you do but because of microgravity we do things a little bit differently. We wash our hair with rinseless shampoo which was originally used for people who couldn’t take a shower. We have personal hygiene kits but brushing our teeth is the same as on Earth. Our toilets are more complex with fans that suck your poop and has leg restraints to keep you legs on the toilet and we have our personal urinal that acts like the toilet.
I can’t wait for the weekend where we get relaxed and have a good time with my crewmates while watching a movie and teasing my crewmembers.
So, I had some work to do since it isn’t the weekend yet and it was hard work keeping the ship afloat, but I like the experiments with toys in space and today I cleaned the filters very neatly.
Today I ate some pizza because it was a pizza party! It was different because we didn’t have to worry about dropping the pizza thanks to of microgravity and I may have accidentally thrown a pizza at a crewmates face and we all laughed about it.
I exercised on the exercise bike and was tired but at least my muscles are okay and won’t stretch due to microgravity which would make me taller, but I would be too weak to walk so that is bad.
Well now I will go to bed for the night. Oh I haven’t told you about sleeping yet! We sleep in these sleeping bag things that are attached to the wall so we don’t bump into anything in our sleeping rooms. Well bye.
